What Islam Says About Feeling Like Life Has No Meaning

Quranic Reflection · 5 min read

Nothing feels like it matters. You go through the motions. You wonder what the point is.

The Universe Was Not Created Without Purpose

"And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in play. We did not create them except in truth."
— Surah Ad-Dukhan, 44:38–39

Nothing was created without meaning. Not the universe. Not you. The purposelessness you feel is not the truth about reality — it is a feeling passing through a reality that is, at its core, deeply intentional.

You Were Meant to Be Here

"O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous — who created you, proportioned you, and assembled you in whatever form He willed."
— Surah Al-Infitar, 82:6–8

You were assembled deliberately. The question is not whether you have meaning — it is whether you have found it yet.

Please Also Seek Support

If this feeling is persistent and heavy, please speak to someone — a counsellor, a trusted person, a professional. Seeking that care is itself an Islamic act of self-preservation.

Let the Quran remind you why you are here.
